Bravo Pet Food Recalled for Salmonella

Bravo of Manchester, CT is recalling Bravo turkey and chicken pet foods for potential Salmonella contamination. People who have purchased these products should not use them as pets who eat it could become ill and people who handle it could also become ill.

Puppy Eating Dog FoodSalmonella poisoning symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Anyone who develops these symptoms after handling the food should contact a healthcare provider.

Pets with Salmonella infections may seem lethargic,  have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some will also have decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.

The recalled products include: Raw Food Diet Bravo! Turkey Blend for Dogs and Cats with the product number: 31-102. It was sold in  2 lb. (32 OZ) plastic tubes with a “best used by date” 11-05-15 and the UPC: 829546311025. Bravo! Blends All Natural Chicken Blend diet for dogs & cats with the product number: 21-102. It was sold in 2 lb. (32 OZ) plastic tubes  with a “best used by” date: 08-11-16 and the UPC: 829546211028. Premium Turkey Formula BRAVO Balance RAW DIET with the product number: 31-405. It was sold in  5 lb. (80 OZ) 2.3KG plastic tubes with the “best used by” date: 11-05-15 and UPC: 829546314057. Bravo! Blends All Natural Chicken Blend diet for dog & cats with the product number: 21-105. It was sold in  5 lb. (80 OZ) 2.3KG plastic tubes with the “best used by” date: 08-11-16 and UPC: 829546211059.

In addition, all sizes (2 lb., 5 lb. and 10 lb.) of Bravo Chicken Blend(s), Bravo Turkey Blend(s), Bravo Balance Chicken Balance and Bravo Balance Premium Turkey Formula frozen raw diet products with best used by dates between June 20, 2016 and September 18, 2016 are being recalled.

The company has received no reports of illness in people or pets who in association with these products.
