New Update for Stores Selling Recalled Rancho Feeding Beef

A new update for stores that may have sold Rancho Feeding Corporation beef products because they were made from diseased and unsound animals has been issued by the USDA. A complete list of the recalled items can be found at the USDA site. While the recall is considered nationwide, the states on the list include Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Guam, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Washington state, and Wyoming. USDA Statement on Rancho Feeding Corporation Recall

The USDA released a statement on Thursday about the Rancho Feeding Corporation beef recall. The agency said earlier that the facility "processed diseased and unsound animals and carried out these activities without the benefit or full benefit of federal inspection." The USDA's Office of the Inspector General is conducting an investigation into the matter for possible criminal activities. The 27-word statement said that the USDA's FSIS "inspectors were present at Rancho Feeds during normal operations as required by law. The ongoing investigation is associated with the company's intermittent circumvention of inspection requirements." The recall of 8.7 million pounds of beef and veal products is now nationwide. El Monterey Taquitos and Tornados were recalled in Canada a few days ago because they sourced a "small quantity" of beef from Rancho Feeding Corporation. That company processed diseased and unsound animals without federal inspection so it is considered unwholesome and adulterated. Rancho Feeding Corporation Beef Recall Goes Nationwide

The recall of 8.7 million pounds of beef processed by Rancho Feeding Corporation now covers the entire nation, according to the USDA. The firm processed beef from diseased and unsound animals and did it without any federal inspection. The products are considered adulterated because they are unsound, unwholesome or otherwise are unfit for human consumption and must be removed from commerce. The products have, unfortunately, been made into other products. Nestles recalled some of their Hot Pockets today and beef jerky in Canada has been recalled. The huge Rancho Feeding Corporation beef recall has started to trickle down to the secondary level. Last week, 8.7 million pounds of beef products processed by that corporation were recalled because the company processed diseased and unsound animals without the benefit of federal inspection. Some of that beef was used in other consumer products and those recalls are starting. Some Nestle Hot Pockets are being recalled because a small quantity of meat used at the Nestle Chatworth, California plant came from Rancho Feeding Corporation. The USDA has issued a huge list of more retail locations, food shelves, and other facilities that may have sold or carried the Rancho Feeding Corporation beef that was recalled for being unwholesome. Kroger Stores Recall Rancho Feeding Corporation Ground Beef

Kroger is recalling Jensen Meat Company ground beef patties that were processed by Rancho Feeding Corporation. That facility processed diseased and unsound animals without the benefit of full federal inspection so a recall was issued for all of its products made in 2013. The products were sold at Frys, Ralphs, Food4Less, FoodsCo, and Smiths. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.
