Sammy’s Milk Baby Food Recalled for Possible Cronobacter

Graceleigh, Inc. doing business as Sammy's Milk is recalling all lots of Sammy's Milk Baby Food because it may contain Cronobacter. This bacteria can cause severe and sometimes fatal blood infections or meningitis in infants. The formula may also not provide nutritional levels of iron. No illnesses have been reported to date. Cronobacter occurs naturally in the environment and it survives in very dry conditions. The CDC usually receives notice of about 4 to 6 cases of Cronobacter infections in infants every year. Infants younger than 2 months are most likely to develop meningitis if they are infected with Cronobacter. Gerber Products Company is recalling some Organic pouch baby food products for spoilage risk. The company after identified a packaging defect that may result in product spoilage during transport and handling in four batches of GERBER® Organic 2ND FOOD pouches. Consumers who have purchased them should not use them. Beech-Nut Baby Food Recalled for Glass Pieces

Beech-Nut Nutrition of Amsterdam, NY is recalling approximately 1,920 pounds of sweet potato and chicken baby food because they may contain small pieces of glass. Consumers who have purchased this product should not use it. The recalled product, produced December 12, 2014, was packaged in 4-oz. glass jars labeled “Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS sweet potato & chicken.” The establishment number “P-68A” appears inside the USDA mark of inspection. The expiration date is “DEC 2016” and includes product numbers “12395750815” through “12395750821.” They were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
