Salmonella Outbreak At La Luz Mexican Restaurant in Fort Collins, CO Grows; Lawsuits Possible

The Salmonella outbreak that has been traced to the La Luz Mexican Restaurant in Old Town in Fort Collins, Colorado has grown to include 19 people, according to news reports. That is an increase of 13 patients since the first outbreak notice on August 22, 2018. Officials at the Larimar County Department of Health and Environment are asking anyone who ate at that facility earlier this month and has been sick with the symptoms of Salmonella food poisoning to report it to public health officials. Salmonella Outbreak at La Luz Mexican Restaurant in Colorado

A Salmonella outbreak has been reported at La Luz Mexican Restaurant in Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado, according to the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment. As of August 21, 2018, there are six confirmed cases. More cases have been reported; tests are pending in those illnesses. Some of the confirmed Salmonella cases have been hospitalized, according to the news release. Restaurant owners have been cooperating with the Health Department to try to solve this outbreak. La Luz Mexican Restaurant has voluntarily closed until more is known about this Salmonella outbreak. Salmonella Outbreak at Arapahoe County Fair in Colorado

A Salmonella outbreak among people who attended the Arapahoe County Fair in Colorado has sickened at least seven people, according to the Tri-County Health Department, Arapahoe County, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Those sickened attended the fair, or 4-H events associated with the fair, from July 21 to July 29, 2018. Officials have not identified the source of the pathogenic bacteria. The Tri County Health Department is conducting an investigation to determine the source and the outbreak strain. Dr. John M. Burrito Delight Salmonella Outbreak in Weld County, Colorado Increases to 37 Sick

The Salmonella outbreak linked to Burrito Delight restaurants in Weld County, Colorado has now sickened 37 people. That's an increase from 35 people as reported in the last update on March 1, 2018. The illnesses have occurred during February and March of this year. Four of those patients have been hospitalized because their illnesses are so serious. The restaurant has voluntarily closed both of its locations in Fort Lupton and Dacono, and they will remain closed until the investigation is over. Burrito Delight Salmonella Outbreak Numbers Updated by Weld County, CO

The case count for the Burrito Delight Salmonella outbreak in Weld County, Colorado has been updated by government officials. As of March 1, 2018, there are 35 laboratory-confirmed cases of Salmonella linked to that restaurant. The press release states that "The source of the outbreak is the Burrito Delight restaurant, which has voluntarily closed both of its locations in Fort Lupton and Dacono." Officials are still investigating the outbreak. Employees are being tested for illness, and lab results from food samples have not yet been received. The Salmonella outbreak in Weld County, Colorado linked to Burrito Delight restaurants has grown to include 21 patients. All of those cases are laboratory-confirmed. The press release from the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment states that "the number of probable cases continues to rise." The case count by county is: Weld (14), Larimar (3), Bolder (1), Morgan (1) and Adams (1). The case count by event is: Aims College Event on February 6, 2018 (3), Aims College Event on February 12 (9), Restaurant dine-in at the Fort Lupton Location (5), and Takeout to place of employment (4). The Salmonella outbreak in Colorado has now grown to 12 people sickened, according to the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment. Ten Sick with Salmonella Food Poisoning Linked to Burrito Delight Catered Events at Aims Community College in Colorado

Weld County Public Health officials held a press conference on February 22, 2018, informing the public about a Salmonella outbreak that is tied to Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado. At least 10 people are sick in that outbreak, after attending two events catered by Burrito Delight. That is an increase of two patients since the outbreak was announced February 22, 2018. Officials have not updated their initial press release since yesterday. Food for those events was provided by Burrito Delight, at one of the restaurant's locations, and at an outside event on February 9 and February 13, 2018. Salmonella Outbreak at Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado Sickens Eight

A Salmonella outbreak at Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado has sickened at least eight people, according to the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment. Officials think that the illnesses may be associated with catered events that were held at the college on February 9 and February 13, 2018. The February 9 event has one confirmed Salmonella case; about 70 people attended. The February 13 event has 2 confirmed cases; about 400 people attended the event. Of the eight confirmed cases, 6 adults live in Weld County, 1 lives in Larimer, and 1 in Boulder County. Deadly Salmonella Food Poisoning Outbreak at La California Restaurant in Aurora, Colorado in November 2017 Killed One, Sickened at Least 13

KDVR-TV Channel 31 in Denver, Colorado is reporting that a Salmonella outbreak at La California restaurant at 1685 Peoria Street in Aurora, Colorado sickened at least 13 people and killed one person. That outbreak was not reported to the public, and there is still no notice about the illnesses on the Tri County Health Department Website. Government officials confirmed the outbreak to the news channel. Those sickened apparently ate at the restaurant from November 4 to November 26, 2017. Twenty-five of those sickened ate there from November 10 to November 14, 2017. Thirty-three people were allegedly sickened, but 13 illnesses were confirmed as  Salmonella infections.  We don't know if any of these patients were hospitalized.
