Golden Sea Sushi EBI Frozen Cooked Shrimp is being recalled in Canada for contamination with 3-amino-2-oxazolidinone. This chemical is used as a marker to detect illegal, potentially carcinogenic veterinary residues in food products such as poultry, eggs, and shrimp. 3-amino-2-oxazolidinone is a stable, tissue-bound metabolite of the banned nitrofurazone antibiotic that is banned in many countries because of potential carcinogenicity and safety risks. The problem is that some of the tumblers may contain a chemical solution that is trapped between the inner walls of the tumbler, which contains some levels of sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. In the last few weeks, there have been almost 500 reports of adverse reactions from consumers who ate this product. Some people have required hospitalization, and at least one person underwent gallbladder surgery after showing signs of liver damage. If you purchased fresh, unpackaged produce at the Walmart Supercenter in Andover, Minnesota, at 1851 Bunker Lake Boulevard Northwest on Saturday, between 6:00 am on Sunday, June 23 and 10:30 pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, throw it away. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is issuing a consumer advisory in response to a "chemical incident" that occurred at that facility on June 22, 2019 around 5:00 pm. The news release did not state what the chemical was. It only states that if you bought the food, don't eat it and throw it out.Other unpackaged foods for sale at that Walmart store were destroyed following the "incident." Bibi Frutix Candy Recalled from Food Banks for Dangerous Chemicals; Two Sick

The FDA has issued a safety alert about Bibi Frutix candy because it contains a chemical substance that has sickened at least two people. The candy was distributed by some food banks. Harvesters - The Community Food Network was warned about this issue. According to a notice posted on the Wamego, Kansas Police Department Facebook page, two people had "adverse reactions" after eating the candy. There is no word about exactly what chemical may be in the product. The candy product is in the shape of a small baby bottle and labeled "Bibi Frutix."
