Frigidaire Gas Cooktops Recalled For Risk of Gas Leak, Fire

Frigidaire Gas Cooktops are being recalled because they pose a risk of a gas leak and a fire hazard. The company has received 63 reports of the control knobs cracking or breaking. There is a report of one minor injury from a gas leak and one report of a fire. These cooktops were manufactured in China and Thailand. The recalling firm is Electrolux Home Products of Charlotte, North Carolina. The recalled products are Frigidaire Gas Cooktops that are made of stainless steel. The product include a 30-inches wide cooktop with four burners, and a 36 inches wide cooktop with five burners. Bella Pressure Cookers Recalled For Burn Hazard

Bella pressure cookers, Bella Pro Series, Cooks, and Crux pressure cookers are being recalled because they may pose a burn hazard. The Bella brand comes in both electric and stovetop models; the others are electric. The pressure cooker's lid can unlock and may be removed during use, which will cause hot contents to splash out, which poses a burn hazard. There have been 63 reports of incidents while these pressure cookers were in use, including 61 burn injuries, some which involved second and third degree burns to the face, torso, arms, and hands. Soojimus CUPKIN Steel Children's Cups are being recalled because they violate the federal lead content ban, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The double-walled stainless steel children's cups contain levels of lead that are too high. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause many serious health problems. The recalling firm is SOOJIMUS LLC, doing business as CUPKIN of Bothelle, Washington. The cups were manufactured in China. These mugs are labeled as microwave safe, but they are not. The mugs were manufactured in China. The importer is Michael Giordano International Inc. of Miami, Florida. About 26,400 of these mugs were sold in the United States. Empower PowerXL Self-Cleaning Juicers are being recalled for laceration and ingestion hazards according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The juicers can rupture during use, hitting people and cutting them. They can also leave small particle shavings in the juice. The juicers were manufactured in China. There are 261 reports of incidents involving these juicers, including 47 reports of injuries. Some were severe cuts requiring emergency treatment, including stitches and bruises. There are also reports of ingestion of small particles, requiring medical attention. About 469,000 juicers are included in this recall in the United States. Cole & Mason Pepper Mills Recalled For Laceration Hazard

Cole & Mason Pepper Mills that were sold exclusively at Wegmans Food Markets are being recalled for possible laceration hazard. The pepper mills have a metal grinding mechanism that lets off metal shards for the first ten grinds. The shards would be mixed in with the ground pepper, posing a mouth injury hazard as well as a laceration hazard for the mouth and esophagus. There have been three reports of incidents of metal shards coming off the pepper mill into consumers' food. No injuries have been reported to the company to date in connection with this issue. Water Beads Recalled in Canada For Life-Threatening Risk

Water Beads are being recalled by Health Canada because they can pose a life-threatening risk. The beads, which are called jelly beads, crystal soil, hydro orbs, orb beads, or sensory beads, are water-absorbing gel beads that can grow up to 1,500 times their size when placed in water. If swallowed, they can grow inside the body and can cause life-threatening injuries such as  intestinal or bowel obstruction. A specific manufacturer was not named in the recall notice. There have been several international incidents when children who ate the beads sustained life-threatening injuries and required surgery. The heater fan can fail and make the components overheat, which may catch on fire. The recalling firm is Berkshire Innovations Inc. of Williamstown, Massachusetts. About 990 units of this product were sold in the United States, and about 29 were sold in Canada. The recalled item is Sahara Folding Food Dehydrators that has seven shelves, two front glass doors, and folds to one third of its size for storage as seen in the photo.
