Hepatitis A Vaccination Clinics Offered in Citrus County, Florida

Hepatitis A vaccination clinics are being offered in Citrus County, Florida as a result of an increase in illnesses in the first five months of 2021. The two-dose vaccine series is being offered at no cost to adults who are 18 years of age and older at the Duke Energy/DOH-Citrus COVID-19 Vaccination Site in Crystal River. No appointment is necessary to receive this vaccine. The clinic is located at 8200 West Venable Street in Crystal River on these dates: Saturday and Sunday, June 19 through June 20, 2021, from 9:00 am to noon. The vaccines are also offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. A hepatitis A positive food worker at the R&M IGA store in Eastport, Maine worked in the deli while infectious for several periods during May 2021, according to a press release from the Maine Centers for Disease Control. Anyone who ordered deli food from that establishment during the time periods stated may be at risk for contracting the virus. The person handled food in the deli at the store, which is located at 88 Washington Street in Eastport, Maine from May 3 to 6, May 8, May 10 to 13, May 15, and May 18-20. Any deli food that was purchased from that store during the time frame of May 3 to 22, 2021 should be discarded or cooked thoroughly to 165°F before consuming. Possible Hepatitis A Exposure at Mustard Seed Restaurant in Fredonia, NY

A possible hepatitis A exposure at the Mustard Seed Restaurant in Fredonia, New York may have exposed patrons to the virus, according to a press release issued by the Chautauqua County Public Health Department.  An employee worked there while infectious between April 1 and May 19, 2021. The risk of infection is low, but there is still a risk. The restaurant is located at 31 East Main Street in Fredonia. Hepatitis A in Roma Sausage and Deli Employee in New York

Hepatitis A has been diagnosed in a Roma Sausage and Deli employee, according to the Oneida County, New York Health Department. That restaurant has two locations in Washington Mills and Utica, New York. The employee worked while infectious and may have exposed people who were patrons of the shops. The Health Department is alerting anyone who ate tomato pie on March 23, 24, 25 26, 27, 28, 30, 0r 31, 2021 from either of the Roma Sausage and Deli locations about the potential exposure. Anyone who ate the pie there on March 30 or 31 can still get a hepatitis A vaccine, which is only effective if given within two weeks of exposure. Hepatitis A Exposure at Brady’s Steaks and Seafood in Pascagoula, MS

A possible hepatitis A exposure is being investigated at Brady's Steaks and Seafood restaurant at 3801 Magnolia Street in Pascagoula, Mississippi, according to a news release by the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH). Two employees worked at that restaurant while potentially infectious with the virus. Any customer who ate at Brady's Steaks and Seafood between March 1, 2021 and April 3, 2021 may have been exposed to hepatitis A. The news release did state that at this time there is no indication of ongoing risk associated with the restaurant. The restaurant and management are fully cooperating with MSDH. The Maine Centers for Disease Control has issued a health advisory about hepatitis A in a food worker at Circle K at 2 Stillwater Avenue in Orono, Maine. That person handled food while infectious on these dates in 2021: March 6 to 9, March 13 to 16, and March 20 to 21. That means that patrons of that restaurant who ate food at that location or anyone who worked at the restaurant on those dates may have been exposed to hepatitis A. Unfortunately, it's too late for anyone who was at that facility from March 6 to 9, 2021 to receive the hepatitis A or immune globulin vaccination. NY Dunkin Donuts Hepatitis A Employee Worked While Infectious

In Schuyler County, New York, a Dunkin Donuts hepatitis A employee worked while infectious, according to a press release by the Chemung County Health Department. An investigation has been launched because that person worked at two area Dunkin Donuts locations. The two locations are at the Dunkin Donuts shop on Corning Road (Miracle Mile) in Elmira Heights and at the Walmart store on County Road 64 in Horseheads, where the person worked for one day. The establishments have been notified by the health department of the potential exposure. The employe has not worked since February 11, 2021. The health department is also asking the managers of those locations to send any staff reporting hepatitis A symptoms for medical evaluations before they to ack to work. Pats Pizza Food Worker Diagnosed With Hepatitis A in Maine

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention says that a Pats Pizza food worker in Dover-Foxcroft has been diagnosed with hepatitis A and worked while infectious. That worker was at that facility on November 11, 2020. Epidemiological assessment of the employee's illness has found that the restaurant's patrons may be at risk for a hepatitis A infection. The Maine CDC is recommending that anyone who may have eaten food prepared at or who worked at Pats Pizza in Dover-Foxcroft on November 11, 2020 receive a hepatitis A vaccine by November 25, 2020. This recommendation includes anyone who may have had dine-in, take-out, delivery, or curbside pickup of food from this restaurant on that day. A food worker with hepatitis A at Texas Roadhouse in Bangor, Maine worked while sick and infectious, according to the Maine Center for Disease Control. That person worked on October 16-18, 20, 22-25, 27, and 29, 2020. Anyone who visited that restaurant on those dates may have been exposed to the contagious virus. The government recommends that anyone who ate there between October 21 and October 29, 2020 get a hepatitis A vaccination as soon as possible.
