Meijer Recalls Premade Salads For Possible Listeria Contamination

Meijer recalls premade salads from Revolution Farms for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. This is a secondary recall. The original recall, issued last week, is for Revolution farms lettuces and salads that were recalled because they are linked to a Listeria monocytogenes outbreak. No illnesses have been reported to the company in connection with the consumption of these products. The recalling firm is Meijer of Grand Rapids, Michigan. These salads were sold at Meijer stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. The recalled premade salads have a Fresh From Meijer sticker on a clear plastic container. Which Brands of Frozen Strawberries Are Recalled For Hepatitis?

Which brands of frozen strawberries are being recalled for possible hepatitis A contamination? There is a hepatitis A outbreak linked to these products that has sickened at least five people in Washington state. The newest recall is for Great Value and Radar Farms products sold at Walmart, Costco, and HEB stores. You can see the recalled products along with their lot code/best by date pairs here. Frozen Cooked Shrimp Salmonella Outbreak Sickens 6 in NV and AZ

A frozen cooked shrimp Salmonella outbreak has sickened at least six people who live in Nevada and Arizona. Two people are hospitalized because they are so sick. Epidemiologic, laboratory, and traceback data show that frozen cooked shrimp supplied by Avanti Frozen Foods is contaminated with Salmonella Weltevreden. The case count by state is: Arizona (2) and Nevada (4). Illness onset dates range from February 26, 2021 to April 25, 2021. The patients age range is from 30 to 80 years. Of five people who gave information to public health officials, two have been hospitalized for a hospitalization rate of 40%, double the typical rate of 20%. Hannaford Meijer 365 Shrimp Recalled in Salmonella Outbreak

The Salmonella Weltevreden outbreak announced by the FDA on their Outbreak Investigation Table last week now has product names associated with it. Six people who live in Nevada and Arizona are sick in this outbreak. Today, a recall was announced for Hannaford Meijer 365 shrimp, along with other brands, in association with this outbreak. The potential for contamination was identified by the FDA based on prior testing of frozen cooked shrimp imported by Avanti Frozen Foods. Avanti Frozen Foods did not distribute that prior batch of imported shrimp and destroyed it. The company has taken steps to eliminate the potential for future contamination. USDA Releases Distribution List in Cargill E. coli O26 Ground Beef Outbreak

The USDA has released the distribution list of where the ground beef in the deadly Cargill E. coli O26 outbreak was sold. That Cargill E. coli outbreak sickened 18 people in four states and killed one person in Florida. Six people were hospitalized, and one person developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a type of kidney failure.
