Buba Noodle Bar Salmonella Outbreak in NH Sickens Seven

A Buba Noodle Bar Salmonella outbreak in New Hampshire has sickened at last seven people, according to the New Hampshire Department of Health nd Human Services. The restaurant is located at 36 Lowell Street in Manchester. As of May 22, 2022, seven people have been diagnosed with Salmonella Enteritidis infections after eating at that location. One person has been hospitalized. Several other potential patients are under investigation. We do not know the illness onset dates or the ages of the patients. Buba Noodle Bar voluntarily closed on May 20, 2022 while a public health investigation is being conducted. Hardie’s Crabmeat Salmonella Outbreak in Maine Sickens Five

A Hardie's crabmeat Salmonella outbreak in Maine has sickened five people, according to the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC). Four of the patients live in Maine, and one patient lives in New Hampshire. Two people were hospitalized because they were so sick. An investigation launched by the Maine CDC and the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry found that the crabmeat was most likely contaminated during preparation and packaging. According to the press release, the establishment's owners have addressed investigator's concerns about the contaminated crabmeat, and there is no evidence that crabmeat currently being sold by Hardie's poses a risk to consumers. Norovirus Was a Contributing Cause of New Hampshire Death at Puritan Backroom

The New Hampshire Office of the Chief Examiner (OCME) has determined that norovirus was a contributing cause of death in a person who lived in Hillsborough county in that state. The unnamed person attended an event at the Puritan Backroom in Manchester, New Hampshire on November 24, 2019. The report was completed after an autopsy was conducted. The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services will not release any more information about the deceased person because of federal and state privacy laws, according to the OCME notice. Eighteen people were allegedly sickened with norovirus after eating at the restaurants' function hall the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The public was not informed about this outbreak at the time. FDA Investigating Raw Oyster Shigella Outbreak That Sickened Five

The FDA is investigating a subset of the Shigella, Vibrio, E. coli, and Campylobacter outbreak that is linked to raw oysters harvested from Estero El Cardon in Baja California Sur, Mexico. That agency is looking at the five people sickened with Shigella infections. Patients sickened in this raw oyster Shigella outbreak got ill in early 2019. The outbreak notice states that restaurants that sell raw oysters in California, Nevada, New York, and Arizona are part of the investigation. The oysters were sold to wholesale distributors with direct sales to restaurants and were not sold to consumers through grocery retail stores.
