The deadly McDonald's onions E. coli O157:H7 outbreak has now sickened at least 90 people in 13 states and hospitalized 27, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That's an increase of 15 more patients and five new hospitalizations since the last update. The case count is: Colorado (29), Iowa (1), Kansas (1), Michigan (2), Missouri (8), Montana (17), Nebraska (12), New Mexico (5), Oregon (1), Utah (7), Washington (1), Wisconsin (1), and Wyoming (5). Illnesses onset dates range from September 27, 2024 to October 16, 2024. The person who died lived in Colorado. The deadly McDonald's E. coli outbreak has now sickened at least 75 people in 13 states. That's an increase of 26 more patients in just three days. And Taylor Farms has recalled slivered onions sent to food service operators, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Everyone interviewed continues to report eating at McDonald's before they got sick. The most recent illness started on October 10. The case count by state is: Colorado (26), Iowa (1), Kansas (1), Michigan (2), Missouri (4), Montana (13), Nebraska (11), New Mexico (5), Oregon (1), Utah (5), Washington (1), Wisconsin (1), and Wyoming (4). Ten people are hospitalized, one person has developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), and one person, who lived in Colorado, has died. The Milo's Poultry Farms eggs Salmonella outbreak has ended with 93 people sick in 12 states and 34 hospitalized, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That's an addition of three states and 30 more illnesses since the last update was issued on September 6, 2024. Many eggs, including duck eggs, were recalled in response to this outbreak. Most of the sick persons live in Wisconsin, where the farm is located. New Salmonella Outbreak Added to FDA CORE Table

A new Salmonella outbreak has been added to the FDA's CORE Outbreak Investigation Table. There are nine investigations on the table; only two have been solved. The new Salmonella outbreak is caused by Salmonella Liverpool. There are at least three patients who are sick in this outbreak in a not yet identified food. The FDA has not initiated traceback, has not inspected any facilities, has not collected samples, and there is no recall issued. For the Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak linked to Milo's Poultry Farm recalled chicken eggs and duck eggs, the case count remains the same at 65 ill, mostly in Wisconsin. Milo’s Poultry Farm Salmonella Outbreak Hits Wisconsin Hard

The Milo's Poultry Farm Salmonella outbreak has hit Wisconsin hard, with 42 of the 65 illnesses in that state. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services released a statement about the outbreak. In all, those 65 people live in nine states: California (2), Colorado (1), Illinois (11), Iowa (2), Michigan (2), Minnesota (3), Utah (1), Virginia (1), and Wisconsin (42). The patient age range is from 2 to 88 years. Twenty-four people are hospitalized because they are so sick. The notice did not state how many hospitalized people live in Wisconsin.
