New Cyclospora Outbreak on FDA’s CORE Outbreak Table

There is a new cyclospora outbreak on the FDA's CORE Outbreak Table. There are nine outbreaks on the table; six of those outbreak have been solved. Three of the outbreaks have ended, but the investigations into all of them are ongoing. For the new cyclospora outbreak, there are two people who are sick. The source has not been identified. The FDA has initiated traceback. For the infant botulism outbreak linked to Nara Organic Infant Formula, three infants are sick. They live in California, Pennsylvania, and Washington state. All three infants were hospitalized and treated with BabyBIG®, the FDA-approved treatment for this infection that was developed by the California Department of Health. FDA Weighs In On Mogo Moringa Capsules Salmonella Outbreak

The FDA is weighing in on the new Mogo moringa capsules Salmonella outbreak that has sickened at least 18 people in seven states. Mogo has recalled their Pure Moringa Oleifera capsules that have lot number/expiration date pairs of 15525AA and expiration date 6/2027, and 00926AA and expiration date 1/2028. This product was sold online at stores including Amazon, eBay, and the Mogo Moringa web site. If you purchased this product, do not consume it. You should throw it away in a secure trash can after first double bagging it so other people can't see it. Moringa Salmonella Outbreak Updated With 22 More Patients

The moringa Salmonella outbreak that was declared over in March 2026 has been reopened and updated with 22 more patients, four new states, and six more hospitalizations. Two new products have been recalled. This outbreak has sickened patients with two strains of Salmonella: Salmonella Typhimurium and Salmonella Newport. Moringa leaf powder dietary supplements are the source of the bacteria. Six Active Investigations on FDA’s CORE Outbreak Table

There are currently five active investigations on the FDA's CORE Outbreak Table; four of them have been solved. Four of the outbreaks are caused by various serotypes of Salmonella bacteria. Two of the outbreaks have ended, but the investigations are ongoing. The first outbreak is a new Salmonella Newport outbreak that has sickened at least 45 people. No food has been identified yet. The FDA has initiated traceback in this outbreak. The second outbreak is the extensively drug-resistant Salmonella Newport outbreak linked to Rosabella Moringa powder capsules. This is a particularly dangerous outbreak because the drug resistance means it can be much more difficult for doctors to treat serious infections.
