Which Stores Sold Peaches Recalled For Possible Salmonella Bacteria?

The latest outbreak in the U.S. and Canada linked to recalled Wawona peaches has sickened 101 people in both countries. Several recalls, including one secondary recall, have been issued in the U.S. and Canada. So which U.S. stores sold peaches recalled for possible Salmonella? And which brand names and products have been recalled? We have collected all of the recalls in the United States here in one place for your information. Peach Salmonella Outbreak Appears in Canada With 33 Sick

Another country is now affected by the peach Salmonella outbreak. As of August 23, 2020, at least 33 people in Canada are ill with Salmonella Enteritidis infections linked to peaches imported from the United States. This outbreak has a similar genetic fingerprint to the Salmonella outbreak in the U.S. that is also linked to Wawona Packing peaches. The case count by province is: Ontario (22) and Quebec (11). The patient age range is 0 to 91 years. No deaths have been reported. Illness onset dates range from June to August 2020. A consumer advisory has been issued by the Canadian Food Inspection  Agency (CFIA) for peaches recalled by Prima Wawona. The peaches were sold in Canada from June 1, 2020 to August 22, 2020. FDA Updates the Salmonella Peach Outbreak With More Recall Information

The FDA has updated the multistate Salmonella peach outbreak with more information about where recalled peaches were sold. As of August 22, 2020, there are 68 people in 9 states who are sick with Salmonella Enteritidis infections that the CDC says is linked to peaches. Consumers, restaurants, and retailers should not eat, sell, or serve recalled peaches packed by or supplied by Prima Wawona or products made with them. If you purchased any of the following recalled products, which include bagged peaches, loose or bulk peaches, and products made with those peaches, do not eat them, even if some have been eaten without anyone getting sick. Prima Wawona is recalling peaches in bulk/loose form that were sold from June 1, 2020 through August 3, 2020, and bagged Wawona and Wawona Organic Peaches sold from June 1, 2020 through August 19, 2020 for possible Salmonella contamination. There is a Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak linked to those peaches that has sickened at least 68 people in 9 states. Wegmans Recalled Peaches and Bakery Items For Salmonella

Wegmans recalled peaches and products made with peaches for possible Salmonella contamination. There is a multistate Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak linked to recalled Wawona Packing fresh whole peaches, and the secondary recalls are starting. These products were sold at all Wegmans stores that are located in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, and North Carolina. The produce items were sold between June 1 and August 21, 2020. The bakery items were sold between August 16 and August 21, 2020. The peaches were supplied to Wegmans by Prima Wawona of Fresno, California. The FDA says that Prima Wawona peaches are being recalled for possible Salmonella contamination. Both conventionally grown and organic peaches are included in this recall. There is a multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to these peaches that has sickened at least 68 people in 9 states. Peaches that are sold as loose fruit or in bulk are not associated with this particular recall. Only bagged peaches are included. CDC Weighs In On Salmonella Wawona Peaches Outbreak

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is weighing in on the Salmonella Wawona peaches outbreak that has sickened at least 68 people in in nine states. The fresh whole peaches were sold at Target and ALDI stores in certain states, and two recalls have been issued. The case count by state is: Iowa (8), Maryland (1), Michigan (17), Minnesota (23), New Jersey (4), New York (8), Pennsylvania (1), Virginia (3), and Wisconsin (3). Illness onset dates range from June 29 2020 to August 3, 2020. Fourteen people have been hospitalized because they are so sick. The patient age range is from 1 to 92 years. The FDA says that Wawona Packing peaches linked to a Salmonella outbreak have sickened at least 68 people in nine states. The peaches were sold at ALDI stores in certain states. ALDI Recalls Wawona Peaches For Possible Salmonella Contamination

ALDI recalls Wawona peaches for possible Salmonella contamination. There is a Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak that seems to be centered in Minnesota, that has sickened 23 people in that state and 68 in eight other states nationwide. ALDI has removed the peaches from its stores. The peaches were sold in various types in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia.
