The Chetak Deep Frozen Beans Salmonella outbreak has ended with 12 people sick in 11 states according to the CDC. That is an increase of one more patient and one more state, Texas, since the last update about the case count was issued on July 17, 2025. The case count by state is: Connecticut (1), Florida (1), Illinois (1), Massachusetts (2), Minnesota (1), New Jersey (1), Pennsylvania (1), Tennessee (1), Texas (1), Virginia (1), and Washington (1). The patient age range is from less than 1 to 82 years. Illness onset dates range from October 22, 2024 to August 5, 2025. There are two new outbreaks on the FDA's CORE Outbreak Investigation Table: A Salmonella Lomalinda outbreak and another Listeria monocytogenes outbreak. There are 11 outbreaks on the table at this time; only four are solved. For the new Salmonella Lomalinda outbreak, there are 30 cases. The FDA has not initiated traceback, inspected a facility, or tested samples. For the new Listeria monocytogenes outbreak, there are 8 cases. The FDA updates CORE Table with a new Salmonella outbreak. There are nine outbreaks currently on the Table; six are Salmonella outbreaks, two are Cyclospora outbreaks, and one is a Listeria monocytogenes outbreak. The new outbreak is caused by Salmonella Enteritidis. There are 31 people sick in this outbreak. The FDA has not initiated traceback, inspected a facility, or sampled any foods. One More Product Recalled in Chetak Bean Salmonella Outbreak

One more product has been recalled in the Chetak bean Salmonella outbreak according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That new product tested positive for Salmonella. No new illnesses have been reported. The new product is also a Deep brand. It is Premium Select Surti Undhiu Mix that is packaged in 12 ounce containers. The lot code stamped on the product label is IN 25158K. The use by date for this item is 06 Dec 2026. An import sample of the product tested positive for the pathogen. Whole genome sequencing showed that the strain of Salmonella in this product matches the outbreak strain. The cyclospora outbreak on the FDA's CORE Outbreak Investigation Table has grown. There are six outbreaks on the Table; three are solved and three are unsolved. There are three Salmonella outbreaks, one E. coli outbreak, and one Listeria monocytogenes outbreak in addition to the cyclospora outbreak. The cyclospora outbreak in a not yet identified food has sickened at least 61 people, an increase of three more patients since the last update.
