The deadly Lyons and Sysco ReadyShakes Listeria monocytogenes outbreak has ended with 42 sick, 41 hospitalized, and 14 deaths, according to the CDC. This outbreak investigation has not been updated since February 24, 2025. The products responsible for this outbreak are Lyons ReadyCare and Sysco Imperial Frozen Supplemental Shakes. Lyons Magnus handles the distribution of these products, which were manufactured and supplied by Prairie Farms. The outbreak strain of Listeria monocytogenes was found by the FDA at the Prairie Farms Dairy in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The patients lived in 21 states. There are three new outbreaks on the FDA's CORE Outbreak Investigation Table. One is a Salmonella Montevideo outbreak, one is a hepatitis A outbreak, and the other is an E. coli O145:H28 outbreak. There are ten outbreak investigations on the Table. Eight of them are unsolved. The new Salmonella Montevideo outbreak has sickened at least 17 people. Traceback has been initiated. The FDA CORE Outbreak Table has been updated with a new Listeria monocytogenes outbreak. There are currently seven outbreaks on that table; six of them are unsolved. The new Listeria monocytogenes outbreak has sickened at least 10 people. It is caused by a USDA regulated product, but that is the only information about the probable cause. The government has started an inspection and has initiated sampling. We do not know the patient age range, illness onset dates, or whether or not anyone has been hospitalized or has died. The FDA is investigating one Salmonella outbreak and four Listeria outbreaks, according to an update on their CORE Investigation Outbreak Table. Four of the five outbreaks are unsolved. And one Salmonella outbreak ended. The Salmonella outbreak that was linked to recalled Sweet Cream mini pastries has ended, with at least 18 people sick in seven states. States with patients include California, Illinois, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The CDC never released any information about this outbreak. The FDA updates CORE Table with a new Salmonella outbreak. There are four outbreaks on the Table that are being actively investigated. Two of them have not been solved. The first outbreak is a Salmonella Newport outbreak that has sickened at least 27 people. The food linked to this outbreak has not been identified. The FDA has initiated traceback but has not initiated an inspection and not collected any items for sampling. .
