Big Olaf ice cream positive for Listeria monocytogenes, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). Sixteen flavors of the 17 samples taken for testing were positive. They include Blueberry Cheesecake, Cherry Cordial, Butter Pecan, Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Coconut Almond Joy, Cookie Dough, Cookies & Cream, Mint Chip, Kahlua Krunch, Pistachio, Plantation Praline, Superman, Vanilla, and White Chocolate Raspberry. Massachusetts Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Dog Gone Dog Treats
A Massachusetts Salmonella outbreak that is linked to Dog Gone Dog Treats has sickened at least three people in that state, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The patients handled the dog treats before getting sick. The patients are two adults in their 70s and one child. All live in Essex County. One open bag from a customer and several unopened bags purchased this week all tested positive for Salmonella bacteria at the State Public Health Laboratory. The Massachusetts Plainville Farms ground turkey Salmonella outbreak is the largest in the nation, with 7 people sick. Overall, 28 people in 12 states are sick, with two people hospitalized and no deaths. We don't know why so many people are sick in that state. Three brands of raw ground turkey that officials say are linked to some of these illnesses were produced by Plainville Farms, including Plainville, Wegmans, and Nature's Promise.
