New Deli Meat and Cheese Listeria Outbreak Sickens 16

A new deli meat and cheese Listeria outbreak has sickened at least 16 people, hospitalized 13, and killed one person, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Those patients live in six states. The case count by state is: California (1), Illinois (2), Maryland (3), Massachusetts (2), New Jersey (1), and New York (7). Illness onset dates range from April 17, 2021 to September 29, 2022. The patient age range is from 38 to 92 years. Eleven of the patients are of Eastern European background or speak Russian. Of 14 people who gave information about their illnesses to public health investigators, 13 have been hospitalized. One person got sick during their pregnancy, resulting in a fetal loss. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products. This creamery is located at 114 Lesher Road in Newburg, Pennsylvania. Paris Brothers cheeses are being voluntarily recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The recalling firm is Paris Brothers Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri. These cheeses were made on May 4, 5, and 6, 2022 and are the only products included in this recall. Whole Foods Cahill Cheddar cheeses are being recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Two flavors, Cahill Cheddar Porter and Whiskey Cheddar cheese, are included in this recall. No illnesses have been reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The Whole Foods Cahill Cheddar cheeses were sold in 44 stores in 22 states. The cheeses are packaged in clear packaging and sold in the specialty department with a Whole Foods Market scale label. The "packed on" dates are May 17 through July 26, 2021. All Jule’s Foods Recalled For Salmonella Contamination and Outbreak

All Jule's Foods recalled for Salmonella contamination and an outbreak, according to an FDA recall notice. The notice states that the FDA and CDC are investigating this outbreak. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has not yet released any information about this outbreak, but there is a new Salmonella Duisburg outbreak that was posted on the FDA's Core Investigation Table on April 22, 2021 with five people sick. We still don't know the patient age range, illness onset dates, or whether anyone has been hospitalized. The FDA has preliminary confirmation of Salmonella in Jule's Foods brie products that contain cashews. Taste for Luxury in Canada is recalling Luigi Guffanti 1876 Taleggio DOP a Latte crudo incarto verde cheese from the marketplace in Ontario because it may be contaminated with E. coli bacteria. No illness have been reported to date in connection with this problem. The recall notice did not specify what strain of E. coli may be in the product, just that it was pathogenic. The recalled product is Luigi Guffanti 1876 Taleggio DOP a Latte crude incarto verde cheese, sold in variable size packages. The UPC number on the product is also variable. Quesos La Ricura Cotija Cheese is being recalled for possible Shiga toxin-producing E. coli contamination (STEC). The company is located in Hicksville, New York. Consider Bardwell Farm LLC of West Pawlet, Vermont is recalling three cheeses: Slyboro, Dorset, and Experience, because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.  The cheese were distributed used in California, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, and Vermont. Listeria Monocytogenes Deli Meats and Cheese Outbreak Ends

The Listeria monocytogenes deli meats and cheeses outbreak is over after sickening 10 people in 5 states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). All 10 people were hospitalized. One person who lived in Michigan died. The patient case count by state is: Massachusetts (1), Michigan (2), New Jersey (2), New York (2), and Pennsylvania (3). The illness onset dates ranged from November 13, 2016 to June 20, 2019. Ill persons ranged in age from 40 to 88 years. Epidemiologic and laboratory evidence found that deli-sliced meats and cheese might have been contaminated with Listeria bacteria and made people sick.
