Raw Farm Raw Milk Salmonella E. coli Outbreak Sickens 165

A Raw Farm raw milk Salmonella, STEC E. coli, and Campylobacter outbreak has sickened at least 165 people in four states, according to the California Division of Communicable Disease Control. This outbreak was not publicized when it happened. The other three states have not been named. According to the preliminary results as of February 2, 204, there are 165 people sick in four states. In California, there are 162 cases in 27 local health jurisdictions. There are four multiple pathogen combinations that have sickened these patients: Salmonella Typhimurium, Campylobacter, and/or Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). FDA on end of Raw Farm raw Cheddar cheese E. coli outbreak states that at least 11 people in five states were sickened. Five people were hospitalized, and two people developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a type of kidney failure. The case count by state is: California (4), Colorado (3), New Jersey (1), Texas (1), and Utah (2). This case count has not changed since the last update was issued by the FDA and CDC on February 28, 2024. Illness onset dates ranged from October 18, 2023 to February 5, 2024. No deaths were reported. Public health officials collected various Raw Farm branded products for testing, and all samples tested negative for E. coli. The Raw Farm raw Cheddar cheese E. coli outbreak has ended with at least 11 people sick in five states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Five people were hospitalized beaus they were so sick. No recall was issued, although the CDC is warning against eating all raw cheese products from this firm. The raw cheddar cheese that sick people may have eaten included original and jalapeño flavors. All sizes of blocks with best by dates through 10/4/2024 and all sizes of shredded cheese packages with best by dates through 5/10/2024 were included in that warning. The Raw Farm raw Cheddar E. coli O157:H7 outbreak has now sickened at least 11 people in five states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Raw Farm voluntarily recalled their cheese on February 19, 2024 but has since withdrawn that recall. The FDA and CDC continue to recommend that people not eat the cheese because epidemiological evidence indicates that, "Raw Farm brand raw cheddar cheese is making people in this outbreak sick." In interviews with public health officials, 7 of 9 people interviewed, or 75%,  said they ate Raw Farm raw Cheddar cheese before they got sick. FDA weighs in on the Raw Farms raw Cheddar E. coli O157:H7 outbreak that has sickened at least 10 people in four states. Four people have been hospitalized in this outbreak, and one person has developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a type of kidney failure. The cheese has been voluntarily recalled by Raw Farm. The recalled products include original flavor, all sizes of blocks and shredded packages, and Cheddar with added Jalapeño Flavor, all sizes of blocks and shredded packages. The cheese was sold at retailers nationwide. Ill patients have reported buying the cheese at Sprouts Farmers Market and Bristol Farms. Raw Farms recalls raw Cheddar cheese for possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination. This cheese is linked to an E. coli O157:H7 outbreak that has sickened at least 10 people in four states, with four hospitalizations. The patients live in California, Utah, Colorado, and Texas. The voluntarily recalled products are cheese block older than batch 20231113-1 and shredded cheese older than batch 20240116. The recalled items are Raw Cheddar Cheese - Pound Block with barcode 835204000156 and item number 1075. Three More Sick in Raw Farm Raw Milk Salmonella Outbreak

Three more people are sick in the Raw Farm raw milk Salmonella outbreak in California, according to San Diego County officials. Those three patients live in San Diego County, bringing the total of patients in that county to 12. And there are seven ill persons who live in Orange County, so the outbreak total so far stands at 19. The farm is located in Fresno, California. Cases began in late September. The most recent illness onset date was October 17, 2023. The outbreak may continue to row, since it can take time when someone gets sick until they visit a doctor, get teated, are diagnosed, and that diagnosis is shared with public health officials. Raw Farm Salmonella Outbreak Spreads to Orange County

The Raw Farm Salmonella outbreak that has sickened nine people in San Diego County has now sickened seven people in Orange County, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency. Those sickened consumed raw milk from that dairy. Raw Farm LLC, which is located in Fresno, has recalled their raw milk and raw cream products. All of the patients got sick within the last month. The patient age range is from one to 20 years. Orange County Health Care Agency is investigating this outbreak with the California Department of Public Health and the California Department of Food and Agriculture. Raw Farm recalls raw milk and cream for Salmonella contamination in California. These products are linked to a Salmonella outbreak that has sickened at least nine people in San Diego County and seven people in Orange County. All fluid raw whole milk and raw heavy cream are included in this recall. The recalling firm is Raw Farm LLC of Fresno, California.
