Raw Farm Raw Cheddar E. coli O157:H7 Outbreak Ends With 9 Sick

The Raw Farm raw Cheddar E. coli O157:H7 outbreak has ended with nine sick, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Those nine patients live in three states. The outbreak was actually linked to raw Cheddar cheese and raw milk from that farm. More than half of the illnesses in this outbreak were in children under the age of five. The cheese was recalled on April 7, 2026.   The case count by state is: California (7), Florida (1), and Texas (1). The patient age range is from 1 to 28 years, with the median age of 2. E. coli O157:H7 found in Raw Farm raw Cheddar cheese, according to the CDC. That cheese is linked to an outbreak that has sickened at least nine people in three states. FDA Adds Info to Raw Farm Raw Cheddar E. coli Outbreak

The FDA has added information to the Raw Farm raw Cheddar cheese E. coli outbreak, including where the cheese may have been sold. This outbreak has sickened at least nine people in three states; most of them are children. The FDA has encouraged Raw Farm to recall this cheese, but the owners of the farm have refused. So the FDA is warning people to not eat Raw Farm raw Cheddar cheese, both in block form and shredded, that was purchased on or after January 4, 2026. The cheese may have been sold at Sprouts Farmers Market and HEB stores, according to patient reports. There may be other retailers who are selling this cheese. Rep. DeLauro and Caucus: Get Raw Farm Cheese Off Shelves

Rep. DeLauro (D CT-03) and the Food Safety Caucus have a message for the FDA: Get Raw Farm Cheese off shelves now. That cheese is linked to an E. coli O157:H7 outbreak that has sickened at least seven people in three states. Raw Farm is the largest producer of raw dairy in the United States. Epidemiological evidence has linked the cheese to the illnesses. State partners are testing the cheese for pathogenic bacteria, but results are not yet available. The FDA can force a recall if a company refuses to voluntarily recall unsafe food. And Raw Farm has refused the FDA's recommendation.
