Two of those patients were hospitalized. The last time this investigation was updated was on September 16, 2022, when it was reported that 16 people were sick after eating at that restaurant. The McHenry County outbreak in Illinois that is linked to D.C. Cobb's restaurant has been updated, according to the McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH). That restaurant is located at 1204 North Green Street in McHenry. The owner of the restaurant is fully cooperating with the investigation. According to the last update, on September 15, 2022, at least 16 people are sick after eating at that restaurant. The case count has not been updated. The newest update also said that MCDH launched their investigation after getting a call from the restaurant's owner and receiving complaints of illness from people who ate at the restaurant five to seven days earlier. A possible Campylobacter outbreak in McHenry County, Illinois has sickened at least eight people, according to a McHenry County press release. Patients got sick between August 17 and August 30, 2022. That number is four times more cases compared to the previous two weeks, and more than three times more cases in August compared to July 2022. No common source of infection has been identified at this time. Although Campylobacter is the most common cause of diarrhea in the United States, outbreaks, which are defined as two or more unrelated people sickened by the same bacterial strain, from this pathogen are relatively rare.
