Swan Bros. Raw Milk Listeria Outbreak Allegedly Sickens 10

A possible Swan Bros. raw milk Listeria outbreak has allegedly sickened 10 people in Missouri and Oklahoma, according to a wrongful death lawsuit filed in the District Court of Rogers County in the state of Oklahoma on January 21, 2022. Swan Bros. recalled their raw milk products in July 2021 for possible Listeria monocytogenes after testing by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services revealed the presence of that pathogen in the milk on July 6, 2021. The dairy posted a notice on its Facebook page on July 6, 2021 about that recall. The ProSource and Keeler onions Salmonella Oranienburg outbreak is the number one food poisoning outbreak of 2021, with at least 892 people sick in 38 states and Puerto Rico. This outbreak is ongoing and has not been updated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since November 16, 2021. The outbreak was first disclosed in mid September 2021, but whole red, yellow, and white onions were not named as the source until October 20, 2021. There are now 892 sick in Salmonella onion outbreak that is linked to red, white, and yellow onions imported from Mexico as of November 12, 2021. One hundred eighty three people have been hospitalized. That is an increase of 84 new cases, one new state (Hawaii), and 26 new hospitalizations since the last update on October 29, 2021. Swan Bros Raw Milk Recalled in OK For Possible Listeria Monocytogenes

Swan Bros raw milk is being recalled in Oklahoma for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to news reports.  The dairy is located in Claremore, Oklahoma. The detection of that pathogen is confirmed. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry allegedly found the bacteria in a routine sample collected from the dairy. Consumers should not drink these products, or use them in cooking. The raw milk was sold in plastic half-gallons, gallons, and pints directly from the dairy. The recalled sprouts include whole milk, 2% milk, skim milk, and raw heavy cream that is sold in pints. Keeler Family Farms Salmonella Onions Retail List Released

The FDA has published the Keeler Family Farms Salmonella onions retail distribution list, associated with the huge multistate Salmonella Oranienburg outbreak that has sickened at least 808 people in 37 states. The list is very short, as opposed to the retail distribution list for ProSource Produce onions, which was released a few days ago. The retail distribution list for Keeler Family Farm Salmonella onions is for HelloFresh meal delivery services, and Gordon Food Service stores, located in several towns in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The recall notice states that the onions from Keeler Family Farms were distributed to wholesales, retail stores, and restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The Salmonella Oranienburg outbreak explodes to 419 sick and 66 hospitalized, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That is an increase of 140 more cases since the last update on September 23, 20212. And it has spread to 35 states, six more states since the last update. Is Salmonella Oranienburg Outbreak Connected to Onions or Limes?

The rapidly expanding Salmonella Oranienburg outbreak has not yet been definitively solved by the FDA or CDC, but there are clues in the latest investigation information. On Friday, September 24, 2021, the CDC said that they found the outbreak strain in a takeout condiment cup that contained cilantro, onion, and lime. Is the Salmonella Oranienburg outbreak connected to onions or lime? Information posted at the National Center for Biotechnology Information stated that cilantro has tested positive for Salmonella Oranienburg, but we don't know if the strain has been definitely established as the outbreak strain.
