Coca Cola and Minute Maid Beverages Recalled For Foreign Material

Coca Cola and Minute Maid beverages are being recalled for possible foreign material contamination, according to news reports and a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message that was posted on the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support memorandum. This contamination poses a choking and mouth injury hazard. There is no word on whether or not any injuries have been reported. The Defense Commissary Agency has posted this recall to all of its stores. The recalled items are Coca Cola and Sprite products that are in 12 ounce 12-pack fridge packs. They include Coca-Cola with date code AUG 1522 WM B and date code AUG 1522 WM C, and Sprite with the date code AUG 1522 WM B. American Screening Hand Sanitizer is being recalled because the bottles resemble beverage containers, which poses a risk of consumption. Ingesting hand sanitizer intended for topical use could result in alcohol toxicity. Alcohol can also interact with many prescription drugs that can cause serious problems. No reports of illness or adverse reactions have been received by the company to date in connection with this problem. The recalling company is American Screening LLC of Shreveport, Louisiana. About 153,336 units of American Screening Hand Sanitizer are recalled. The product contains 70% ethyl alcohol gel and was sold at the consumer level to customers and distributors nationwide through the internet. It was also sold in-house. Marijuana Products Recalled in Arizona For Possible Salmonella and Aspergillus

Some marijuana products are being recalled in Arizona for possible Salmonella or Aspergillus contamination. Multiple establishments and dispensaries are issuing this voluntary recall. Laboratory tests conducted on these products were positive for Salmonella or Aspergillus. The recalled products include Baked Bros Watermelon Syrup, with batch number BBWS150I-1. This is an ingestible syrup containing honey and alcohol, and it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. Also recalled is Toasted brand products, which include Sugar Cookies, Rose Gold, Dawgy Treats, Pear, Dirty Sprite, Bettie Paige, Russian Cream, White Rhino, Abracadabra, and Boo Berry. Salmonella Citterio Salame Sticks Outbreak Grows to 30

The Salmonella Citterio Salame Sticks outbreak has grown to include 30 patients in 10 states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which is an increase of 10 patients since the last update on October 28, 2021. Six people are hospitalized because they are so ill. That is an increase of two more states in the case count. A recall was issued after the government discovered that the product was still being sold at one retail location, which was not named. The case count by state is: California (12), Illinois (4), Kansas (2), Maryland (1), Michigan (3), Minnesota (3), New Jersey (2), New Y0rk (1), Pennsylvania (1), and Virginia (2). Citterio Salame Stick Products Recalled For Possible Salmonella

Citterio Salame Stick products are being recalled for possible Salmonella contamination, according to the USDA. Euro Foods, of Freeland, Pennsylvania, doing business as Citterio USA Corp, is recalling about 119,091 pounds of salame stick products. A public health alert about these products was issued on October 29, 2021 instead of a recall because the government believed that the product was no longer in commerce. But, after the alert was issued, FSIS found product at one retail location, and two unopened, intact Citterio salame stick products collected by the California Department of Public Health tested positive for Salmonella. More Salmonella Onions Recalled in Canada For Possible Contamination

More onions are being recalled in Canada for possible Salmonella contamination. This recall was triggered by the huge Salmonella Oranienburg outbreak linked to onions in the United States that has sickened more than 800 people in 37 states. No illnesses are reported in Canada in connection with these recalled items. The onions were imported from Mexico by ProSource Produce and Keeler Family Farms. The recalled items include Dorsey yellow onions, sold in 10 pound mesh sacks with UPC number 0 33383 60004 8. All products sold between July 7, 2021 and October 28, 2021 are recalled. Keeler Family Farms Salmonella Onions Retail List Released

The FDA has published the Keeler Family Farms Salmonella onions retail distribution list, associated with the huge multistate Salmonella Oranienburg outbreak that has sickened at least 808 people in 37 states. The list is very short, as opposed to the retail distribution list for ProSource Produce onions, which was released a few days ago. The retail distribution list for Keeler Family Farm Salmonella onions is for HelloFresh meal delivery services, and Gordon Food Service stores, located in several towns in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The recall notice states that the onions from Keeler Family Farms were distributed to wholesales, retail stores, and restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Public Health Alert Issued For Citterio Salame Stick Products

The USDA has issued a public health alert for Citterio Salame Stick products that are linked to a Salmonella outbreak that has sickened at least 21 people in eight states. A recall was not requested because the government thinks that these products are no longer for sale, and also because FSIS has not identified a specific contaminated lot. The company that made the sticks is Euro Foods of Freeland, Pennsylvania. The government is telling people to not eat any of these products no matter where they were purchased or their use by dates. Fratelli Beretta Antipasto Salmonella Outbreak Ends With 40 Sick

The Fratelli Beretta Antipasto Salmonella outbreak has ended with 40 people sick in 17 states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Twelve people were hospitalized because they were so sick. There were two types of Salmonella in this outbreak: Salmonella Typhimurium and Salmonella Infantis. The case count by state is: Arizona (5), California (8), Colorado (1), Illinois (5), Indiana (1), Maryland (1), Michigan (2), Minnesota (2), Nevada (1), New York (1), Ohio (3), Oregon (2), Texas (3), Utah (1), Virginia (1), Washington (2), and Wisconsin (1). ProSource Produce onions are being recalled in Canada for possible Salmonella contamination, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The onions are from Chihuahua, Mexico. Onions from Chihuahua, Mexico, imported by ProSource Produce LLC (ProSource Inc.), are linked to a huge Salmonella outbreak in the United States. There are no reported illnesses in Canada that are associated with the consumption of these onions. The onions were distributed in Ontario and Quebec and may have been distributed nationally at the retail level. Whole raw red, yellow, and white onions are called.
