Dole Recalls Bagged Salads For Possible Listeria Monocytogenes

Dole recalls bagged salads for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination as a result of a deadly listeriosis outbreak that has sickened at least 16 people in 13 states. The salads were processed in the company's Bessemer City, North Carolina and Yuma, Arizona facilities. The recalling firm is Dole Fresh Vegetables. The products all have a product lot code that begins with either the letter "N" or the letter "Y" in the upper right corner of the package. The best if used by dates on these products are between November 30, 2021 and January 8, 2022. FDA Info on Deadly Dole Listeria Outbreak, With 16 Sickened

The FDA has released information about the deadly Dole Listeria outbreak that has sickened at least 16 people in 13 states and killed two as of December 22, 2021. The FDA says that the outbreak is "potentially linked" to those products. The CDC investigated this outbreak in 2019 and 2020 but was not able to gather enough information to name a brand or products. The investigation was reopened in November 2021 when four new illnesses were reported. In October 2021, the Georgia Department of Agriculture collected a product sample of prepackaged salad mix from a grocery store. That sample tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. There are two deaths in a Dole bagged salads Listeria monocytogenes outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Sixteen people in 13 states are sick, and twelve people have been hospitalized. The patient case count by state is: Idaho (1), Iowa (2), Maryland (1), Michigan (1), Minnesota (1), Nevada (1), North Carolina (1), Ohio (2), Oregon (1), Pennsylvania (1), Texas (2), Utah (1), and Wisconsin (1). A Fresh Express salad Listeria monocytogenes outbreak has sickened at least ten people in eight states and has hospitalized all ten patients. One person has died, according to the FDA. We do not yet know the patent case count by state or the patient age range, but the states where the patients live or lived include Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Fresh Express Sweet Hearts Romaine Lettuce Sweet Butter Lettuce has tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD). A sample of that product that was collected as part of routine sampling and was analyzed by MDARD. No illnesses have been reported in Michigan in association with the consumption of these leafy greens. The product is Fresh Express Sweet Hearts Romaine Lettuce Sweet Butter Lettuce that is packaged in a 9 ounce clear plastic bag with a red and green label with white lettering. Rompe Pecho Cold Treatment Recall For Possible Contamination Updated

Rompe Pecho cold treatments and flu treatments are being recalled because they may have microbial contamination. These lots were distributed in 2019, although the products all expire next year. This is an expansion of a 2019 recall. No reports of illness have been received by the company to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The recalling firm is Efficient Laboratories, Inc. of Miami, Florida. The original recall was for one lot each of Rompe Pecho EX, Rompe Pecho CF, and Rompe Pecho MAXliquid. Coca Cola and Minute Maid Beverages Recalled For Foreign Material

Coca Cola and Minute Maid beverages are being recalled for possible foreign material contamination, according to news reports and a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message that was posted on the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support memorandum. This contamination poses a choking and mouth injury hazard. There is no word on whether or not any injuries have been reported. The Defense Commissary Agency has posted this recall to all of its stores. The recalled items are Coca Cola and Sprite products that are in 12 ounce 12-pack fridge packs. They include Coca-Cola with date code AUG 1522 WM B and date code AUG 1522 WM C, and Sprite with the date code AUG 1522 WM B. About 153,336 units of American Screening Hand Sanitizer are recalled. Marijuana Products Recalled in Arizona For Possible Salmonella and Aspergillus

Some marijuana products are being recalled in Arizona for possible Salmonella or Aspergillus contamination. Multiple establishments and dispensaries are issuing this voluntary recall. Laboratory tests conducted on these products were positive for Salmonella or Aspergillus. The recalled products include Baked Bros Watermelon Syrup, with batch number BBWS150I-1. This is an ingestible syrup containing honey and alcohol, and it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. Also recalled is Toasted brand products, which include Sugar Cookies, Rose Gold, Dawgy Treats, Pear, Dirty Sprite, Bettie Paige, Russian Cream, White Rhino, Abracadabra, and Boo Berry. Salmonella Citterio Salame Sticks Outbreak Grows to 30

The Salmonella Citterio Salame Sticks outbreak has grown to include 30 patients in 10 states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which is an increase of 10 patients since the last update on October 28, 2021. Six people are hospitalized because they are so ill. That is an increase of two more states in the case count. A recall was issued after the government discovered that the product was still being sold at one retail location, which was not named. The case count by state is: California (12), Illinois (4), Kansas (2), Maryland (1), Michigan (3), Minnesota (3), New Jersey (2), New Y0rk (1), Pennsylvania (1), and Virginia (2).
