The Milo's Poultry Farm Salmonella outbreak has hit Wisconsin hard, with 42 of the 65 illnesses in that state. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services released a statement about the outbreak. In all, those 65 people live in nine states: California (2), Colorado (1), Illinois (11), Iowa (2), Michigan (2), Minnesota (3), Utah (1), Virginia (1), and Wisconsin (42). The patient age range is from 2 to 88 years. Twenty-four people are hospitalized because they are so sick. The notice did not state how many hospitalized people live in Wisconsin. Milo's Poultry Farms eggs are being recalled for possible Salmonella contamination, according to the FDA. The eggs are linked to a Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak that a has sickened at least 65 people in nine states and hospitalized 24. The farm is located in Bonduel, Wisconsin. All of Milo's Poultry Farm and Tony's Fresh Market eggs are included in this recall. The recall includes all carton sizes, all egg types, and all expiration dates. New Grower Added to Cucumber Salmonella Outbreak
A new grower has been added to the cucumber Salmonella outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). FDA's laboratory and traceback data, along with epidemiological information, has found that cucumbers from Bedner Growers of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Thomas Produce Company of Boca Raton, Florida, are the likely sources of illnesses in this outbreak. But those growers do not account for all illnesses. Thomas Produce Company supplied cucumbers to multiple points of service where patents reported eating cucumbers. An onsite inspection was conducted at Thomas Produce Company.
