The deadly cantaloupe Salmonella outbreak has sickened at least 162 people in the United States and Canada. Three people have died; two in Minnesota in the U.S. and one in Canada. So we decided to collect them all in one place so you have an easy way to identify if you have any of these items in your home. The Cantaloupe Recalls On November 9, 2023, Sofia Produce, doing business as Trufresh, recalled Malichita cantaloupe that were imported from Mexico. Kwik Trip cantaloupe products are being recalled in the wake of a deadly Salmonella outbreak that killed two people in Minnesota and sickened 99 nationwide. The recalling firm is Kwik Trip, Inc. The recalled products are three varieties of fresh cut fruit cup and tray items. They were made with cantaloupe from Trufresh that have been recalled and have been linked to the outbreak. But there have been no reported illnesses associated with these specific Kwik Trip products. The recalled items have sell-by dates of November 4, 2023 through December 3, 2023. This outbreak is linked to a larger multistate outbreak, in which at least 43 people in 15 states are sick. One person in the Twin Cities metro area has been hospitalized because they are so sick.
