Keely Farms Dairy Raw Milk Outbreak Sickens 21 in FL

A Keely Farms Dairy raw milk outbreak has sickened at least 21  people in Florida, including six children under the age of 10, according to the Florida Department of Health. The original notice was updated with the name of the raw milk provider. That farm is located in New Smyrna Beach in Volusia County in Florida. Seven people have been hospitalized, and severe complications have been reported in two patients. This outbreak started on January 24, 2025. The complications of both Campylobacter and Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) infections can be severe. For Campylobacter, the complication is Guillain-Barré syndrome, which can cause whole body paralysis that may be temporary or permanent. Breaded Jalapeño Mac & Cheese Bites are being recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. This recall notice was posted on the FDA’s Enforcement Reports page and not the regular recall page, so there is no mention about whether or not any illnesses have been reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of this item. The recalling firm is Louisa Food Products of St. Louis, Missouri. This product was sold in the states of Delaware and Illinois. Andalos Pastries Recalled in Canada For Salmonella

Andalos Pastries are being recalled in Canada for possible Salmonella contamination. The Public Health Agency of Canada is investigating a foodborne illness outbreak linked to pistachios and pistachio containing products that triggered this recall. The recalling firm is Boulangerie Andalos Inc. These pastries were sold online, as well as at the retail level in the provinces of New Brunswick, Ontario, and Quebec. Cyclospora Outbreak Grows on FDA CORE Investigation Table

The cyclospora outbreak on the FDA's CORE Outbreak Investigation Table has grown. There are six outbreaks on the Table; three are solved and three are unsolved. There are three Salmonella outbreaks, one E. coli outbreak, and one Listeria monocytogenes outbreak in addition to the cyclospora outbreak. The cyclospora outbreak in a not yet identified food has sickened at least 61 people, an increase of three more patients since the last update. Campylobacter and E. coli Raw Milk Outbreak Sickens 21 in Florida

A Campylobacter and E. coli raw milk outbreak has sickened at least 21 in the Northwest/Central Florida region, according to the Florida Department of Health. It is illegal to sell raw milk for human consumption in that state; it can only be sold for non-human consumption as pet or animal food. This limits regulation efforts of sanitary practices. Containers or raw milk must have a label that plainly states this milk is for animal consumption only. The provider of the milk, or the farm, was not named in the notice. Because of the recent cases of Campylobacter and Shiga-toxin production E. coli (STEC) infections linked to a "particular farm," the Florida Department of Health is providing this  information. Hans Kissle Red Bliss Potato Salad is being recalled for wheat, one of the nine major food allergens, that is not declared on the product label as required.
