The Minnesota Grimmway Farms carrots E. coli O121:H19 outbreak has sickened five people, according to the Minnesota Department of Health, This multistate outbreak has sickened at least 39 people in 18 states. One person who lived in California has died, and 15 people have been hospitalized. The five patients in Minnesota are between 15 and 44 years of age. The illness onset date range is from September 21 to October 6, 2024. One person has been hospitalized, and no deaths have been reported. The carrots, which include organic whole and baby carrots, have been recalled by Grimmway Farms. They were sold under many different brand names throughout the country, and also in Canada and Puerto Rico. The Madre Oaxacan Salmonella outbreak has sickened 45 people, according to an email sent by the LA County Department of Public Health. All of those infections are confirmed. Public health officials are investigating and responding to this outbreak. Officials became aware of this outbreak on September 17, 2024, when reports of illness were received. The restaurant is located at 27007 Mc Bean Parkway in Valencia, which is a neighborhood in Santa Clarita, California. The Madre Oaxacan outbreak has sickened at least 36 people with Salmonella infections, according an email from the LA County of Public Health. The restaurant will allegedly reopen soon after passing a restaurant re-inspection that was conducted on September 24, 2024, according to news reports. The outbreak was uncovered on September 17, 2024, when reports of people suffering from gastrointestinal illnesses started coming in to the health department. The restaurant, which is located at 27007 Mc Bean Parkway in Valencia, California, was closed "due to [an] imminent health hazard for disease transmission," according to the email. Alleged Madre Oaxacan Restaurant Outbreak Sickens People in LA County

An alleged Madre Oaxacan and Mezcaleria Restaurant outbreak has sickened an unnamed number of people in LA County, according to news reports. The pathogen was not named. That restaurant is located at 27007 McBean Parkway in Valencia, California. The LA County Health Department started getting reports of "gastrointestinal symptoms" on Tuesday, September 17, 2023 after people ate at that facility. Possible Shigella Outbreak at Elks Lodge in Eureka, California

There is a possible shigella outbreak at Elks Lodge in Eureka, California according to the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services. There are three confirmed cases and five suspected cases that are associated with a dinner that took place at the Lodge on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. The notice said that Shigella illnesses are "on the rise" in the county since at least six people have tested positive for the infection since August. The first cluster of three patients was identified in late August, but no connection between those people could be confirmed. The two clusters do not appear to be connected.
