The recalled items are Raw Cheddar Cheese - Pound Block with barcode 835204000156 and item number 1075. A Raw Farm raw Cheddar cheese E. coli outbreak has sickened at least 10 people in four states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Four people have been hospitalized because they are so sick. Raw Farm LLC has agreed to recall products and is working with the FDA. One pound and half pound blocks of the cheese, and half pound shredded cheese was recalled on February 17, 2024. The case count by state is: California (4), Colorado (3), Texas (1), and Utah (2). Tacos del GNAR Cyclospora Outbreak Sickens 45 in Colorado
A Tacos del GNAR cyclospora outbreak has sickened at least 45 people in Colorado, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Tacos del GNAR is a gourmet taco shop that serves unusual tacos. As of June 15, 2023, there are 62 cases of cyclospora reported in that state. Colorado averages 63 cases a year. No one has been hospitalized as a result of this outbreak. All 45 people likely ate at Tacos del GNAR, located at 630 Sherman Street in Ridgway, Colorado, before they got sick. The patients said they ate there since May 1, 2023. The restaurant is partnering with the health department in all aspects of the investigation. Possible Hepatitis Exposure at Wheat Ridge King Soopers in Colorado
A possible Hepatitis A exposure has occurred at the Wheat Ridge King Soopers in Colorado. A food handler tested positive for the virus. The press release from the Jefferson County Public Health Department says that this is an isolated incident that has been confirmed as related to international travel, not local disease transmission. Consumers may be at risk of exposure if they purchased and consumed deli meats and/or cheeses that were sliced online at the deli on certain dates. Another possible exposure is from eating onsite-prepared sandwiches containing deli meats or cheeses from that specific location. The dates of purchase in question are March 20 to March 30, 2022. The Northeast Seafood Salmonella outbreak is the number two multistate food poisoning outbreak of 2021, with 115 people sick in 15 states. Twenty people were hospitalized. Most of the patients live in Colorado, where Northeast Seafood operates. The outbreak ended on December 6, 2021. The patient case count by state was: Arizona (1), California (1), Colorado (93), Connecticut (1), Iowa (1), Minnesota (2), Missouri (1), Nebraska (2), New Jersey (2), Pennsylvania (1), Texas (2), Virginia (3), Washington (1), Wisconsin (2), and Wyoming (2).
