New Salmonella Enteritidis Outbreak on FDA CORE Table

A new Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak has been added to the FDA CORE Outbreak Investigation Table. There are eight investigations on the table; seven are unsolved. The new Salmonella outbreak has sickened at least 66 people. No traceback has been initiated, and there is no recall. The FDA has inspected a facility and sampled product. For the unsolved E. coli O157:H7 outbreak, the case count has increased by one to 26. The FDA has started traceback, but no recall has been issued. The Diamond Shruumz outbreak has now sickened at least 158 people and hospitalized 63, according to the FDA. There are two potentially associated deaths as well. That is an increase of 13 more patients and four more hospitalizations since the last update was issued on August 21, 2024. Which Stores Carried Boar’s Head Deli Meat in Listeria Outbreak?

Which stores carried Boar's Head deli meat that is linked to a deadly Listeria monocytogenes outbreak? According to the recall notice that was issued on July 26, 2024 and expanded on July 30, 2024, the meats were sold "nationwide." But California published a 25 page list of establishments in that state that may have carried the meats. Now Nine Deaths in Boar’s Head Deli Meat Listeria Outbreak

There are now nine deaths in Boar's Head deli meat Listeria monocytogenes outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The new death is from New York. Yesterday the CDC said there were eight deaths. And CBS News is reporting that, after a Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA)  request, they received inspection reports for the Boar's Head facility in Jarratt, Virginia. There were 69 records of noncompliance registered by USDA inspectors, including mold and mildew, leaking and pooling water, some with green algal growth, condensation dripping on the product, a rancid smell, insects including flies and a cockroach, and blood in puddles on the floor. A new E. coli O157:H7 outbreak on the FDA's CORE Outbreak Table, and case count increases in other outbreak investigations are the changes in the latest update. There are seven active outbreak investigations on the table. Six of them are unsolved. The new E. coli O157:H7 outbreak in a not yet identified foods has sickened at least 25 people. There are now eight deaths in Boar's Head deli meat Listeria monocytogenes outbreak, according to the CDC, with at least 57 people sick in 18 states. The deadly Flathead County E. coli outbreak in Montana case count has increased to 22 sick, according to news reports. The case count was at 14 in the last update that was issued on July 26, 2024. One person has died. The outbreak is linked to wagyu ground beef that were undercooked or made to order. The beef was served at restaurants in that county, including: Gunsight Saloon Hops Downtown Grill Tamarack Brewing Company the Lodge at Whitefish Lake Harbor Grille Th person who died allegedly ate at Harbor Grille, and, according to that news report, lived in Arizona. Another cyclospora outbreak and a new Salmonella outbreak are listed on the FDA's CORE Outbreak Investigation Table, bringing the number of outbreaks under investigation to eight. Six of those eight outbreaks are unsolved. The newest outbreak is a cyclospora outbreak that has sickened at least two people. The FDA has initiated traceback but has not collected samples or started inspections. A new Salmonella Newport outbreak is on the table with two people sick.
